MAJ assists in international joint venture acquisition:
Merrill, Arnone & Jones attorneys recently assisted a global client
in the acquisition of assets to expand its U.S. operations. MAJ provided
assistance in intellectual property licensing, employment, financing and
structural aspects of the transaction.

Mike Merrill:
Mike continues to be active in his support of the LUTHER BURBANK CENTER as
a member of the LBC Director's Circle as well as serving as an Ambassador
for Higher Education for Sonoma State University, and as a Trustee for the
Windsor Boys & Girls Club. This year he has served as the Assistant General
Chairman of Rotary International's Task Force on Education & Training
covering training issues throughout the 170 Rotary countries in the world.
Bill Arnone:
Bill was appointed to serve as Vice Chairman of the Santa Rosa Housing Authority
during 2002. The Housing Authority recently approved a $2,000,000 loan to
Burbank Housing Development Corporation to cover land acquisition and pre-development
costs for a project that will add 128 units of much needed affordable housing
to Southwest Santa Rosa.
Ross Jones:
Ross was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Santa Rosa Sunrise
Rotary Club, and chairs the Club Service Activities Committee. Ross was also
re-elected to the Board of Directors of the North Bay World Trade Association,
an organization that seeks to enhance the opportunities and knowledge of its
members as they conduct business abroad.
Elizabeth Palmer:
Elizabeth, a board member of the Sonoma County Chapter of the American Red
Cross, was recently presented with the chapter's George Escofie' Award for
Outstanding Board Service.
Marlon Young:
Marlon served on the selection interview panel for the new Airport Manager
of the Charles Schultz-Sonoma County Airport. Marlon, in his role as a member
of the Sonoma County Airport Commission, recently completed a six-month project
updating the Airport Minimum Standards.
